1. The name of this piece is hyacintho luna (blue moon).
2.This features an underwater scene with a little girl holding the moon while moon jellyfish float by.
3. When you are underwater the world seems far away, blurry, silent. The idea of this piece is that sometimes ones whole universe seems to be in this underwater state of strange and beautiful silence . The emotion I'm trying to show here is a whimsical wonder and I want to show a world that doesn't make sense one that has no logical rules , but in reality what I want so say is in many ways our everyday world is just as strange and blurry which is why I added the street lamp and red umbrella as if the girl stepped through a thin curtain into this place bringing a little bit of home with her.
4. I used the quick selection tool to move different objects into the main background and the eraser tool to blend the street into the ocean floor. I also used the dodge and burn tool to create shadows and highlight to this image. I used the color balance editor to add a blueish tint to all the aspects of this piece and adjusted the contrast and exposure. I also used different blending modes on embedded images to make the whole picture look more liquid.
5. I'm pleased with this project although I always believe I could improve. I learned that with all the photoshop skills I've learned I can create nearly anything. My one regret is how fast this class went by and how I won't be able to be taking photos and editing them like this again. I wish i could take this class again and again.
thank you for everything
